What is Wine Jelly?

Wine jelly is exactly that - jelly made out of wine. Our jellies are made with a wide variety of wines such as, Merlot, Riesling, Spiced Beer, Port and White Zinfandel just to name a few. We even make delicious Champagne and Strawberry Margarita jellies. Our jellies can be sweet, spicy, or savory, depending upon the ingredients. Check out our Cook page for delicious Wine Jelly recipes to add to your dinner table!

Is Wine Jelly alcoholic?

We keep our cooking process to a minimum so that we can maintain the flavor and integrity of the wine. Therefore, there may be traces of alcohol in the jelly. All purchases must be made by persons at least 21 years of age.

Why does Wine Jelly seem so... "liquidy"?

The Wine Jelly that you purchase from us comes fresh from our kitchen to yours and jelly can take some time to set up. Our jelly can take a few days or longer to solidify but rest assured that the texture has nothing to do with the taste! It is just as delicious on day one as it is in a month. Stirring the jelly before using can help incorporate the juices for a better presentation.

Why does the jelly sometimes look “cloudy”?

During the canning process the jelly can sometimes set up very fast, trapping air bubbles and giving it a cloudy appearance. The air bubbles in no way affect the taste or integrity of the product. It just plain tastes good!

What is the best way to store Wine Jelly?

The best way to store unopened jelly is in a dark, cool place like a pantry. Opened jars of jelly must be refrigerated.

How long is it's shelf life?

Wine Jelly can be kept for months unopened. Since we only use natural ingredients and no preservatives we recommend that opened jars be used within 30 days but this can vary depending on how long an open jar of jelly was left unrefrigerated. Don't worry, its so good it won't last long anyway!

What's the best way to use it?

Excellent question! The uses of Wine Jelly are limited only to your imagination and cooking prowess. Our jellies can be served straight from the jar as a condiment or can be incorporated into many of your favorite recipes. We asked a family friend (and the best cook we know), Christa McAloney, to develop some creative recipes using our Wine Jelly. Check out her amazing recipes on our Cook page.
